The Ocean Beach Historical Society Presented: The Annual WISTERIA TEA PARTY
March 19, 2011 at 4761 Niagara Ave., 92107 (Ocean Beach)
We celebrated our OBHS Annual Wisteria Tea Party held at Board Member Ned Titlow’s early 1900’s home, under the full bloomed largest Wisteria canopy in O.B. Everyone enjoy a variety of teas, fresh homemade lemonade, scrumptious delectables while listening FEATURED VIOLINIST ALICIA PREVIN, CELLIST MARK SANDER and KEYBOARDIST MARK SAVERINO . Actor/Singer Antony Johnson (T.J.) joined in on a couple lovely songs. It was a day to remember!
I’m not sure if this is the best way to contact the historical society, but I didn’t see an email on the website…My name is Jaime and I’m doing a research paper for an American history class at City College and my topic is the Wonderland Amusement Park. I’m looking for as much info as possible, specifically who built it, what year was it dismantled, what happened to the different attractions ( I understand some of the animals in the menagerie were sold to the zoological society) and if there are any buildings still around from the site and if so, where are they in OB? If anyone has any useful information at all, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your time,
Jaime Johnson
Hi Jaime,
If there is still time, I can show you material in the OB Historical Society archives. Call 619-223-7784 for an appointment.
