“Trolley to The Beach,” is the story of how dependable electric streetcar service allowed people to live at the beach—specifically Ocean Beach, Point Loma, Pacific Beach and La Jolla—and still be able to work downtown. It is the story of the Point Loma Railroad and The San Diego Electric Railway and how they helped our city to grow. As such, it is also the story of D. C. Collier and John D. Spreckels. Eric covered an approximately 50-year period from the 1890s through the 1940s, and the story will be, of course, lavishly illustrated.
Eric loves history and his program was filled with interesting details, images, and humorous tidbits. Kitty McDaniel added a nice touch and fun to the program and film clips.
