On Thursday, November 19th at 7:00, at OB Joyfull, please join Ocean Beach Historical Societiy as one of our favorite presenters, Richard Carrico presents Bound to Die: A New True Crime Book by Richard Carrico as he takes us from the glittering streets of Hollywood in 1958 to the Anza Borrego desert along the path of a serial rapist and killer. Posing as a photographer and using lonely-hearts clubs and modeling agencies to find victims, Harvey Glatman abducted and murdered Judith Dull, Ruth Mercado, and Shirley Bridgeford, leaving their bodies in the Southern California desert. For months, their disappearances remained disconnected and unexplained. Richard’s new book, Bound to Die, chronicles the three young victims and tells the story of a fourth victim who fought back and sought justice. Richard will talk about development of the book and his struggles to not glamorize the murderer while humanizing the victims. Copies of the book will be available at a discounted price and, of course, Richard will gladly sign them for you. Please join us at 7:00 pm at OB Joyfull, 1984 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., O.B. OBHS lectures are always FREE.
